North Outdoor Brand Store, which opened in Helsinki's Torikortteli, is the first store of a Finnish clothing brand specializing in merino wool clothing. North Outdoor's high-quality and timeless clothes are designed and manufactured in Finland. The new store is located in a historical milieu on Katariinkankatu, on the stone foundation of Bock's house, which was completed in 1763.
The space provided a very good starting point for the North Outdoor brand. In addition to the historical environment, the special feature of the space is the windows on both sides and the view of the green courtyard. We wanted to keep the view outside the main focus, so carefully selected shades from the brand look were brought into the space.
In the design, the principles of sustainable development were taken into account, as well as the company's brand & the project focused especially on furniture made as carpentry.
The possibility of reusing the furniture in the future also served as a main theme in the design of the premises. Oak was selected as the material for the new furniture, which, like merino wool clothes, is timeless and long-lasting if well cared for.
